For the past few decades, textile industries have been left with conventional products such as Ferrous sulphate/Alum and Lime/Caustic for treating effluents. The result is often unsatisfactory that at most times don’t meet the discharge standards. With the rapid growth of industrialization, efficiency and space for effluent treatment are being the two most important considerations by textile industries. The unsatisfactory discharge standards of effluent also lead to a labour-intensive sludge treatment process.
The sludge has to be dewatered, dried and stored before finally disposing them off. It is important to note that the excessive use of Ferrous sulphate/Alum and Lime/Caustic lead to more sludge formation. The darker the colour of the dye, the higher the dosage of Ferrous Sulphate/Alum and Lime and the more the amount of denser and heavier sludge.
BR offers a number of highly effective and efficient products to counter the above problems. BR’s DC 100 is a high cationic coagulant which offers the following benefits:
DC 100 offers a 40 to 60% reduction in the sludge produced by conventional products such as Ferrous Sulphate/Alum and Lime.
By offering the highest quality primary treatment, the efforts for further treatment will be significantly reduced.
The DC 100 eliminated the continuous stirring during solution preparation when using Ferrous sulphate and Lime.
Due to a lesser quantity of sludge, drying disposal, dewatering and storage of sludge will be cost-effective and hassle-free.
DC 100 ensures less impact on the environment through lesser sludge production, saving power and lesser chemical toxicity.
The picture on the left shows effluent treated with DC 100 and the one on the right shows effluent treated with Ferrous sulphate and Lime (other conditions remain the same). It is clearly seen that DC 100 has reduced the sludge content considerably.
