Most of those idols are made of Plaster of Paris or Clay.
Plaster of Paris is Calcium Sulfate Hemihydrate which takes several years to completely dissolve in water.
On the other hand, Clay takes3 weeks to dissolve completely.
Another alternative could be Paper mash and bamboo which will take 45 minutes to dissolve completely
