Name of Intern: Sukanya S Shenoy Institute: TAPMI, Manipal Year of Internship: 2022
"I must say that being a complete fresher in the field of Human Resources, I never felt that there was a divide between the freshers and those who are not. We were all given actual projects, no dummy projects at all. Some of my projects were overlapping with that of the other interns, so there was a lot of collaboration at one point and none of us were made to think that we were working in silos. My projects were spread across all sub-functions ranging from talent acquisition to learning and development to performance management systems with a lot of employee engagement elements."
" As for BR's cultural aspect, just like their official website details about it, BR gives a lot of autonomy even to the interns in completing their tasks. I was not given any hard deadlines but more room to manage my time and to grow. This was a very essential learning as a management student. Lastly, I was given a lot of opportunities to engage with most of their employees in pursuance of various projects I was given, including a visit and a tour of their whole factory. My experience as a HR summer intern at BR, I would say, was end to end and a short summary of what my professional journey forward would entail. Thanks a lot to the management for giving me this opportunity and to Mr. Shakya Dutta, my mentor, for all his guidance throughout!"
